WOYWW week 57

Well it's Wednesday again and time to show whats on your desk. Well mine is definatly a total mess.
On it is a ribbon storage that I have been trying to make. My sample is made mainly paper though I am quiet pleased with the reel. The storage part needs some work.   Maybe next week I will have mastered it.  There is also some dotty paper that I have embossed and my trusty scissors and lots of other mess.

For those who are interested Smarite is still here but I thought you might like to see a picture of Samson my Maine Coon boy he is huge at 10 months old he is much bigger than my other fully grown male cats.
If you would like to see other desk check out Julias blog.  Have a great WOYWW folks.

  1. I have so much trouble coming up with a good ribbon storage that you have really piqued my curiosity over this thing you are working on. And what is it about cats and cat owners who are artists? Gotta love it.

  10. Aw pussy cats are just toooo cute, mine is asleep under my computer desk, after waking meup at 5 this morning! I've put most of my ribbons into jars but am very mad at Tesco's for putting 75p on the price...as crafters must have made them think they were too cheap!

  32. Ribbon storage is the hardest ...not so bad if you have large rolls of some that you can string on a pole but for the shorter lengths there seems no real answer ....have tried so many methods and none really work for me ...maybe one day ... lol.

Samson is so handsome ...I love male cats to be big. The fact that you still have Smartie means you now have a perminant new member of the family ...I hope xx

  35. Lol, your prototype ribbon storage looks remarkably similar to what I came up with at the end of last year! I described my idea to my husband and he came up with these and gave them to me for Christmas. Wonder if you could find some cheap paper towel holders? Love the kitty!

  36. I have tried so many different things for storing my ribbon. I'm glad now I've finally found something but it sits in boxes and takes up a lot of room. Oh well, as long as they are all visible I'm happy :)

  37. Wow I didn't know you had a Maine Coon as well as Egyptian Maus, now I am really jealous. Samson is so Handsome !!!

I really really want a Maine Coon - I adore them, but hubby says that two Bengals in the house is enough. I guess he is right really as they don't go out, three would be rather a lot to handle. Still I can dream and I know that one day I will definitely get one. In the meantime, I just stalk breeders websites and drool over gorgeous kitten photos LOL!!!!

  47. Hmmm, I could do with some effective ribbon storage as well, both for on the reel and off. I have three drawers full and start off with it in bags but they get mixed up after a while.

I don't think your desk looks too bad.

  49. The space of a busy crafter - excellent! I don't have much ribbon, it's stuffed in a box but I'm liking the jar ideas from the comments :)

  50. Love your Maine Coon! I have three of them and they are the most precious kitties. My girl sisters are relatively small, but long and lanky. But my orange male is about 20 pounds, big old hunk!!!! Marcy
